Terms of use and privacy

Astra is a Vedic astrology app made by Reality Distortion Field. Using it means you accept the terms below. They are written plainly on purpose; they are not less binding for it.

What Astra is, and is not

Astra calculates your birth chart from the birth details you give it and explains it within the framework of Vedic astrology. Everything it says is traditional interpretation, offered for reflection and learning. It is not medical, mental-health, legal, financial or safety advice, it does not predict outcomes, and no decision should rest on it alone.

Your account and your data

You sign in with Google or with a code sent to your email. We store your email address to recognise you.
The birth details you enter for yourself and for the people you add, the life events you choose to save, and your preferences are stored in your own account. No other user can see them.
A Kundali you ask for on the website is kept with the email address you gave, together with the birth details it was cast from, so that it is already in your account when you sign in to the app with the same email. Nobody else can see it. Deleting your account deletes it.
When you ask Guide a question, your question and the chart facts it needs are sent to an AI provider (Anthropic) to compose the answer. Voice conversations are carried by OpenAI. These providers process the data to answer you and do not receive your email address.
The production site uses Google Analytics to count visits and screens. No advertising is shown and your data is never sold.
You can remove people, events and your chart inside the app. To delete your account and everything in it, open Settings in the You tab and choose Delete my account. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

Ownership

Astra's design, code, artwork, readings, reports and all other content are the property of Reality Distortion Field and protected by copyright. You may use them personally, within the app. You may not copy, scrape, extract, reproduce, redistribute, reverse-engineer or build another product from any part of Astra without written permission.

Fair use of the service

Astra runs on shared resources with daily allowances per person. Automated access, account sharing, or attempts to bypass the sign-in or the allowances are not permitted and may end your access.

Beta

Astra is in beta. Features change, calculations are refined, and the occasional mistake is possible. Tell us through Feedback when something looks wrong; that is what the beta is for.

These terms may be updated as Astra grows. The date below tells you when they last changed.
